Alex, \(14\) year old, a tutor:

 

‘Being a tutor is more than just helping students with their homework,’ says 14-year-old Alex. ’I earn some extra money, but the most important thing is that I gain experience. I'm learning how to explain complex ideas, work with students, and manage my time. It’s a skill I can use in any job. Tutoring helps me understand how to combine study and work. And I also learn how to stay calm in situations when I have to explain the same things again and again. But the best part is the moment when my students' eyes light up with understanding. It’s true that we learn together and grow together.’

 

Emma, \(15\) years old, a museum volunteer:

 

‘My volunteering at the local museum has opened my eyes to so much,’ shares 14-year-old Emma. ‘I started by helping with events, and then I began to do more and more things, like creating exhibits and giving tours. I love working with art and history and seeing the impact I can make. I've learned more about art, the way museums function, and working with a team who share my passion. I don’t have any salary when working as a volunteer, but the experience is priceless.’

 

Denis, \(14\) year old, the workshop explorer:

 

‘My favourite way to discover new career options is by attending workshops,’ says 14-year-old Denis. ‘I’ve tried everything, from coding classes to photography workshops and robotics. I like the idea of being able to learn new skills step by step, and then using those skills in real-world projects. I’ve even taken online courses that allow me to work from home, which is cool. It’s exciting to see how different fields connect and how one can combine them. I’m still thinking about what career path to choose, but every workshop is a chance to explore something new and find out what I’m good at.’

 

These three teenagers demonstrate that there’s no single path to finding your dream career. It’s about exploring and experimenting day by day, step by step. Whether you're earning money part-time, doing volunteer work, or attending workshops, every experience helps you develop skills, gain valuable knowledge, and discover what interests you.
