The currency in the UK is called the British pound sterling, or simply the pound (£). The pound is made up of \(100\) pence (p), and the singular for pence is penny (p).
The currency in the United States is called the dollar ($), and in European countries — the euro (€). For both the dollar and the euro, coins are called cents (¢). The Russian currency is called the ruble (₽).
