Hey everyone!  It's been a year since my family and I moved from California to Russia, and it’s time to share my experience. I'll be honest, I was nervous at first. Everything was so different — the language, the culture, even the weather! I didn't speak any Russian, and the Cyrillic alphabet looked like a secret code. I also used to dislike cold weather, but it doesn’t feel that bad now. And I like it when it snows!

One of the first things that amazed me was the size of Russia. It's massive! And it’s so diverse — from busy cities like Moscow to breathtaking Siberia. I never thought that Russia has so many different cultures and landscapes.

Speaking of Moscow, it is incredible! The architecture is stunning! I used to think that Moscow is just one of the many big cities, but it’s really unique. Ancient buildings stand side by side with modern skyscrapers. I love exploring its historic sites, like the Kremlin, which dates back to \(1485\). I'm also discovering Moscow museums, theatres, and galleries, I never used to have so many of them around before.

People here are another big surprise for me. I used to think that Russian people are too serious, rude and even arrogant. I really didn't think they could be so friendly and generous. I've made some great friends who have helped me to learn the language. I'm even starting to understand the humour, which is quite different!

It was also surprising to see how much Russians value their freedom and independence. I used to have certain stereotypes about Russia, but I understand now that they're not true. People here are passionate about their country and proud of its history.

Overall, moving to Russia has been an amazing adventure. Things weren’t always easy, but I'm grateful for this experience and I'm definitely falling in love with Russia!
