17. Reading. Tips on how to be safe on the internet

 As \(99\) \(\%\) of teenagers use the internet every day, one must know the basic rules of web security. Follow these rules and use the net safely.

1. Use strong passwords
Creating strong passwords for all your accounts is the easiest way to secure your personal data. Also, it’s better not to reuse the same password. Moreover, you shouldn’t use your birthdate or name when creating one. Change it every three months.

2. Don’t share too much
Some websites may steal your personal data when you sign up or fill in a survey. You shouldn’t post unnecessary personal information in your accounts' profiles. Be particularly careful with your address and phone number.

3. Don’t click on suspicious links
Cybercriminals may contact you through email, messengers and calls. If you receive a message or a call from a stranger, who asks you to open a link or download a file, don’t respond to him/her and block this person.

4. Don’t accept friend requests from everyone
Unfortunately, not all people want to be real friends with us. You shouldn’t accept friend requests from people you don’t know. You’d also better not join groups with strange or questionable content and members.

5. Install an ad blocker
An ad blocker will help you to avoid annoying ads and make your browser work faster.

6. Shop carefully
If you buy something online, choose well-known online stores. You also shouldn’t save your bank card details on a shopping site, because someone could steal it there. Download any receipts they send.
